For well over two years, the Friends of the Depot in cooperation with the Lexington Police Department have removed graffiti from buildings in the Depot District. The pictures below show a new outcrop that appeared in early May 2016. This required climbing up on top of the building at the corner of E 3rd Ave and S. Railroad Street, see map below. In the map, the red is the building outline from Google Maps and the blue lines show the location of the latest "yellow" graffiti. Friends is unable to reach this area and will be contacting the City to see if anything can be done to get it removed.

Graffitti is difficult to remove. Since the buildings are subject to demolition and rehabilitation, the approach is to blot out the graffitti as soon as it appears. An example of blotting it out can be see on the metal fence in the preceding photo.
